THIS SEASON, GIVE THE GIFT OF AN ANSWER

2X YOUR IMPACT

Thanks to longtime QEII Foundation donors Sherry Porter and Doug Hall, every donation will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $211,000, in support of the QEII's most pressing diagnostic imaging priorities.

Your gift will help bring two transformative technologies to the QEII — a cutting-edge photon counting CT scanner that lets healthcare teams see more, and a dedicated fleet of 18 point-of-care ultrasound systems that lets anesthesia teams see now, with advanced imaging available right in the operating room, recovery area and at the bedside.

Two extraordinary technologies. One generous match. Twice the impact for patients and families.

FROM QUESTIONS TO ANSWERS

Diagnostic imaging touches nearly every patient who comes through the QEII — helping healthcare teams diagnose cancer, detect strokes, identify heart disease, guide complex surgeries and so much more. For patients, it can be the moment “we don't know” becomes “here's what we need to do.”

A breakthrough in CT imaging: Considered one of the biggest advances in diagnostic imaging in decades, photon counting CT can produce extraordinarily detailed 3D images with resolution up to 27 times greater than conventional CT technology currently used across hospitals in the Maritimes. Currently available in only three Canadian hospitals — all west of Toronto — this technology can make tiny tumours, subtle heart disease, microscopic fractures and other abnormalities easier to detect, helping clinicians reach earlier answers and make more confident treatment decisions.

Critical answers, right at a patient's side: During surgery and recovery, a patient's condition can change in seconds. A dedicated fleet of 18 point-of-care ultrasounds will put advanced imaging directly into the hands of QEII anesthesia teams — allowing them to assess the heart, lungs and blood vessels within moments and identify potentially life-threatening complications before they become emergencies.

More clarity. More confidence. Better-informed care for patients across our region. Your gift, immediately matched today, will help bring these critical, life-changing technologies within reach.

WHY SHERRY AND DOUG ARE DOUBLING YOUR GIFT

For couple Sherry Porter and Doug Hall, the power of an accurate, timely diagnosis is personal. As a two-time cancer survivor, Sherry knows firsthand the difference exceptional care and advanced technology can make.

Today, Sherry and Doug are helping lead the QEII Foundation's We Are campaign — a bold effort to transform health care across Atlantic Canada — and they're inviting others to join them in accelerating access to the very best diagnostic imaging technology for patients.
