Let's raise some FUNds!

By Katie MacDonald

I'm donating my birthday to support this awesome cause

This year, I'm donating my birthday and I hope you'll help me make the biggest impact possible, It's extra sweet as I'm celebrating with the QEII Foundation and mega-influencer and self-love advocate, Alicia Mccarvell.

I've already chosen an area of care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre that means the most to me and now I'm asking for your support. By donating to my DIY Birthday Fundraiser, we can save and change lives at the QEII, Atlantic Canada's largest and most specialized adult hospital.

There is no better way to celebrate my birthday, knowing the impact we are making on one million plus patients that visit the QEII each year. And, as a bonus, you'll also help me receive an invite to Alicia Mccarvell's half-birthday party; an experience I don't want to miss! Help me make my birthday count...every gift makes a difference

My Updates

A little background...

Saturday 11th Nov
As many of you know, I had an "almost unheard-of" diagnosis of Uterine Serous Carcinoma at age 35. I then had a (second) hysterectomy followed by chemotherapy

Although I received my chemo treatments here in Cape Breton, my journey was overseen by the wonderful Gyne-Onc team at the QE2,

Without the patient care fund, I would have had to pay out of pocket for my post-chemo meds. Without those pain killers and Anti-Nausea medications, my journey would have looked ALOT different. I would not have only missed 3 scheduled gym days. I would not have had a smile on my face. I would not have been able to continue to be an involved parent to my children, nor partner to my husband.
Basically I would have been a much lesser, crankier, sicker, in more pain, version of myself

I will be forever grateful that the patient care fund exists, and it is my hope that you will help me to help others by donating to this fundraiser.

Much love and appreciation,

Katie xoxo

Thank you for your support
