In honour of Joe Keevill
With deep sadness, the family of Joe Keevill must share the tragic news of his sudden death. He was 26 years old. He lived his life with courage but with his own reasons, which we don’t fully understand, he died by suicide on early Tuesday morning, June 13, 2023.
He is survived by his dad, Chris and stepmom, Leslie. His sisters, Emma and Meg, who were his great protectors, with brothers-in-law Neil and Mike. His new nephew, Felix. Cousins Robert, Shaun, Liam and Laura, Jennifer and Michelle, Luc and Tessa, Greg and Joss, Alec and Zac. Uncles Brian, Rob, Rick, Andrew and Craig. Aunts, Brenda, Sylvia, Jan, Magalie and Jackie. Grandparents Lorraine Blacklock, Wayne and Sharon MacDougall and of course, Rosmarie, who is always present, loving the Keevill kids.
When Joe made friends, they lasted forever. So many of his guys are hanging on now, missing Joe and remembering so much laughter, mischief and joy. To his fellas, we thank you all for loving our sweet Joe like a brother.
Joe’s death does not define his life. He leaned into every obstacle with his best fight. We remember also, the effortlessness that Joe showed in the most important things; how he made everyone feel special and lit up every room with his smile, his warmth, generosity, and love. While we were all rooting for him, he wrapped himself around the next person who needed a little care. He was so much like his mom that way. And now we are given comfort knowing that Joe and Deborah Leigh are together.
All are welcome to join the Keevill family in celebration of Joe on Friday, June 23, 10:00 AM, at Atlantic Funeral Homes Dartmouth, 771 Main Street.
