The Orchid Gala

By The Orchid Gala

The Orchid Gala Women’s Health Initiative is dedicated to transforming women’s health care in Nova Scotia. By collaborating with government officials, medical professionals, and industry leaders, we work to improve access to vital procedures, reduce wait times, and equip doctors with the resources they need to provide exceptional care to women in our province.

For 2026, we are thrilled to partner with the QEII Foundation to bring Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) testing via Comprehensive Genomic Profiling (CGP) to patients and fund a new gynecologic oncology fellowship.

Gynecologic cancers often present at advanced stages and can be difficult to treat effectively. HRD status is a key biomarker in ovarian and related gynecologic cancers, and timely identification with HRD testing via CGP can significantly improve patient outcomes. Funding a gynecologic oncology fellowship will ensure that our clinical teams have the expertise needed to interpret the genomic data and translate results into real-world patient care.

Your support to bring HRD testing via CGP alongside a gynecologic oncology fellowship will enable faster, more effective, and personalized cancer care for women in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island treated at the QEII.

Together, we can close gaps in care, empower clinicians, and improve outcomes for women and families across our region and beyond.
