How does the QEII Better Care Gift Catalogue work?

Where does the money from my gift go?
When you choose an item from our QEII Better Care Gift Catalogue, it goes directly towards that QEII care area as a donation, making a positive impact in honour of your friend, family member, or loved one. Gifts made through the catalogue are directed toward the designated programs, services and supports described in the catalogue.
- In the instance that gift donations for specific catalogue items exceed the QEII’s financial need, donations will be reallocated within the catalogue to meet the needs of similar QEII programs.
When I select an item from the QEII Better Care Gift Catalogue, is that gift actually given?
Yes, it is. For some gifts, like Teddy Bears with Heart, QEII patients and families will receive a real teddy bear that will carry a recording of the heartbeat of their special person after their passing. For other gifts, like Support the Veterans’ Memorial Garden, the gift of garden care and maintenance will be given to spread joy to our well-deserving veterans. Your loved one will receive an e-card, telling them of the special gift that was given in their honour. Each gift will spread joy – in its own special way.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes, your QEII Better Care Gift Catalogue gift is a donation to the QEII Foundation. Please check your email (don’t forget to check your junk folder) for your tax receipt. If you don’t receive it within 5 business days, please contact SarahJ.White@QE2Foundation.ca.
When will the recipient receive their e-card and gift acknowledgment?
For immediate email delivery select 'send it now' when adding the e-card to your cart. If you would like to have the e-card sent on a particular day select 'send it later' and choose a future date.
If you wish to have the card sent at a specific time, you can add your own email address for the recipient email address in the e-card form and forward it from your inbox to your intended recipient at the exact time you want.
Can I send a physical (real) card instead of an e-card?
Not currently, but we hope to have this available in the future. Your feedback helps us with developing meaningful changes to our programs.
